Charity Bibs Overview

  • Here's what you need to know:

    • Fundraising minimum - Varies. See below:

      • Local Partners: $250

      • Brave Like Gabe Foundation: $250

      • St. Jude Heroes: starting at $250

      • Team Fox: starting $250

      • American Cancer Society: starting at $500 (includes race entry fee)

      • Joe Andruzzi Foundation: starting at $600 (includes race entry fee)

    • Registration deadline - September 20th

    • Fundraising deadline - October 1st

    • Limited availability - A limited number of charity bibs will be available. However, this option may reach the limit before the above registration deadline. Charity bibs will only be available for the marathon and half-marathon. (There are unfortunately no Team Relay charity bibs available)

    • No transfers - Charity bibs may not be transferred to another runner if you are unable to participate.

    • Entry fee - The current entry fee will be charged at the time of registration.
      Note: This is in addition to the charity fundraising commitment. (Does not apply to American Cancer Society or Joe Andruzzi Foundation. See above.)

    • There are several great options to raise funds:

      • Beyond the Finish Line Local Partners
        (in support of the Mount Desert Island area charity partner of your choice)
        minimum fundraising commitment: $250

      • Team Brave Like Gabe
        (in support of the Brave Like Gabe Foundation for rare cancer research)
        minimum fundraising commitment: $250

      • St. Jude Hero
        (in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital)
        minimum fundraising commitment: starts at $250

      • Team Fox
        (in support of Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research)
        minimum fundraising commitment: starts at $250

      • Team DetermiNation
        (in support of the American Cancer Society)
        minimum fundraising commitment: starts at $500

      • Team JAF
        (in support of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation)
        minimum fundraising commitment: starts at $600

Need to switch races?
If you are currently registered to participate and would like to
switch to a race that has reached capacity, you will not be charged a second entry fee. However, you will still be required to create a personal fundraising page following the instructions below prior to the registration deadline, and meet the required fundraising commitment prior to October 1st. (Marathon and Half-Marathon Only. There are unfortunately no Team Relay charity bibs available.)

Beyond the Finish Line

Local Charity Partners

Take your MDI experience Beyond The Finish Line in support of one of our Local Charity Partners. Many of these groups provide goods, services and volunteers over race weekend to help you meet your goals and finish strong!

  2. Click "join the fundraising team" under the charity of your choice.

  3. You will be re-directed to Crowdrise:

    • from mobile...

      • scroll down and select the “Join” button.

      • follow the onscreen instructions to set-up your fundraising page (according to Crowdrise this should take you 42 seconds from start to finish!)

    • from desktop...

      • select the “Join” button (located below the running tally of funds raised)

      • follow the onscreen instructions to set-up your fundraising page (according to Crowdrise this should take you 42 seconds from start to finish!)

  4. Once you have created your personal fundraising page you will need to send us the URL, which will look something like this: www.crowdrise.com/NameOfCharity-RunMDI/fundraiser/YourCrowdriseUsername

  5. Please use our application form below to send us your unique Crowdrise URL so that we can verify that you have set up your fundraising page.

  6. Applications for charity bibs will be processed in the order they are received. Once approved, we will send you registration instructions. Your registration is not complete until you have actually signed up to run.


Please keep in mind that if you do not fulfill your $250 fundraising commitment prior to October 1st your registration will be forfeited and your bib number will not be available for pick-up at the pre-race expo.

St. Jude Hero

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. The hospital costs about $2 million a day to run, and there is no cost to be treated.

  2. Click “Register” and either “Form a Team”, “Join an Existing Team”, or “Individual.

  3. Follow remaining prompts to set-up your page.

Michael J. Fox Foundation

The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. 100% of the proceeds raised by Team Fox members go to programs driven by the Foundation.

Joe Andruzzi Foundation

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) recognizes the hidden cost of cancer and strives to alleviate this financial stress.Through the distribution of grants and gift cards, JAF covers basic non-medical needs that patients and caregivers impacted by cancer often find themselves unable to afford - including housing, food, transportation and utilities.
